Recently, Chinese Society of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry announced that 16 young scientists won the “15th Hou Defeng Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry Young Scientist Award”. Associate Professor Cheng Hongfei from School of Geosciences and Surveying CUMTB was included.

　　Dr. Cheng’s research mainly focuses on mineralogy, materials science and coal geology with publication of over 30 essays. In 2011, he won the “Li Siguang Outstanding Doctoral Candidate Award”. In the year of 2012, he was honored the title of the “Beijing Excellent Doctoral Dissertation”. He got one first prize at provincial level in 2013 and one second prize at provincial level in 2012.
