From September 17 to 19, “International Symposium on Materials for Wind Energy Applications—Development, Modelling and Future Directions” was held in Beijing, which was jointly organized by CUMT-Beijing and the Technical University of Denmark. President QIAO Jianyong and Vice-President JIANG Yaodong attended the opening ceremony. More than 40 experts and scholars from Canada, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, China and other countries and regions attended the symposium.

President QIAO delivered the welcome address, saying that he believed the conference would promote international exchanges on wind energy utilization and achieve the prospective objectives. Professor ZHOU Hongwei from Mechanical and Architectural Engineering of CUMT-Beijing and Dr. Leon Mishnaevsky from Technical University of Denmark served as the chairmen of the meeting. Full exchanges focusing on mechanical properties of composite fan blades were carried out in the meeting.
