From June 25th to 30th, 2017,theInternational Mine Water Association (IMWA) hosted the 13th IMWA Conference in Rauhalahti, Lappeenranta, Finland. Wu Qiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor of CUMTB and doctoral supervisor, was elected the first vice-president of IMWA at the head of the poll. It was the first time that an Asian scientist was elected this position sincetheinception of IMWA.
