On May 13th-14th, the 17th "Harmony Cup" Table Tennis Competition and the 2023 Beijing University Table Tennis Championship concluded successfully at Peking University's Khoo Teck Puat Gymnasium. Our university's table tennis team achieved outstanding results. In the professional division (Group A), our men's singles player secured the championship, while the men's doubles team clinched the third and fifth positions. Additionally, the mixed doubles team achieved an impressive eighth place, and the women's doubles teams secured the seventh and eighth positions.

The competition attracted a total of 670 students from 60 higher education institutions in Beijing. Under the guidance of Coach Zhang Li, our university's table tennis team, consisting of 11 members from our Sports Delegation, participated in the event. The athletes demonstrated courage, determination, and unwavering perseverance throughout the two days of intense competition. In the men's singles of Group A, Zhang Hongchao, a postgraduate student from the Department of Sport Education and Research, secured the championship. In the men's doubles, Cao Meng and Li Haoyu achieved the third position. Cao Meng and Song Xiaowan secured the eighth position in the mixed doubles category. Additionally, Xie Jingyi paired with Bai Yanke, and Song Xiaowan paired with Liu Yuan achieved excellent results, securing the seventh and eighth positions, respectively, in the women's doubles of Group A. These remarkable achievements mark a historic breakthrough for our university's table tennis team. Congratulations to all the athletes for their outstanding performance!
