On the morning of November 29, Prof. Ohnishi Yuzo from Kansai University, the former vice president of Kyoto University, and Prof. Tetsu Nishiyama from Okayama University visited the university. Jiang Yaodong, Vice President of CUMTB received the delegation. Jiang Yaodong introduced the development scale, discipline construction, key laboratories construction of CUMTB, as well as the important role of the university in China’s higher education system and coal industry, and summarized the research focus and situation in such areas as rock mechanics, slope stability, and etc. Ohnishi Yuzo introduced the development status of mining industry in Japan and the research focus of their scientific research teams, showing that they are concerned about people-oriented and environmental friendly exploitation and utilization of energy and resources, and hoped that both sides could make further cooperative research on topics of common interests.
