Kick-off meeting on project of “Underground Clean Energy Development” funded by Program of Introducing Talents of Discipline to Universities as well as its 2014 work arrangement meeting was inaugurated in Room 201, Exchange Center on the afternoon of March 12.

　　President Yang Renshu pointed out that through the construction of “Underground Clean Energy Development” innovative base funded by Program of Introducing Talents of Discipline to Universities, focusing on academic forefront, CUMTB should enhance international competitiveness of disciplines and endeavor to rank among the tops of the world by jointly conducting research and academic exchanges with world renowned experts, fostering doctorate candidates, selecting and dispatching domestic backbones of scientific research to engage in collaborative research in top-ranking universities or research institutes outside China.

　　Prof. He Manchao, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of China, and Prof. Jiang Yaodong, Vice President of CUMTB, commented on the key points of project execution respectively, indicating that introduced overseas talents should work closely with domestic key scientific researchers to actively conduct high-level cooperative research and academic exchange.
