On the afternoon of September 9, the council inaugural meeting of “Collaborative Innovation Center for Efficient and Safe Coal Development” (hereinafter referred to as “Collaborative Innovation Center”), which is set up by China University of Mining and Technology, CUMT-Beijing, and joined by relevant scientific research institutes, enterprises and universities, was held together with its first working conference in Beijing. WANG Xianzheng, President of China Coal Industry Association, and FU Jianhua, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Work Safety and Director of the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, attended the meeting and jointly unveiled the nameplate for the Collaborative Innovation Center.

Secretary of the Party Committee at CUMT-Beijing, YANG Renshu announced the organization structure and membership list of the Collaborative Innovation Center. President QIAO Jianyong issued the Letter of Appointment to the Director of Collaborative Innovation Center.

Articles of Collaborative Innovation Center for Efficient and Safe Coal Development were approved in the working conference. According to the Articles, the core task of the Collaborative Innovation Center is to overcome the significant and common key technologies of China’s coal industry, and to foster excellent mining engineers. The Collaborative Innovation Center is set up by the joint efforts of China University of Mining and Technology and CUMT-Beijing, together with the collaborative research institute of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and the collaborative enterprises of Shenhua Group Co., Ltd., National Coal Group Co., Ltd., Datong Coal Mine Group Company, and Jizhong Energy Group Co., Ltd., as well as the collaborative universities of Liaoning Technical University, Henan Polytechnic University, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Xi'an University of Science and Technology, Hunan University of Science and Technology, Anhui University of Science and Technology, Taiyuan University of Technology, and North China Institute of Technology. The Collaborative Innovation Center established two innovative platforms of Effective Coal Mining & Green Processing and Coal Resources & Safe Mining. The Council, the Academic Committee and the Management Committee of the Collaborative Innovation Center were also established.
