From November 29 to 30, 2012 Beijing International Ecological Restoration Forum was held in Beijing. More than 260 experts and scholars from administrative authorities of Chinese government, research institutes and coal mining enterprises attended the meeting.

In this forum, an in-depth discussion on the theme of pollution control, land reclamation and ecological restoration in mining areas was conducted and the “2012 Consensus on Industry Development of Land Reclamation and Ecological Restoration in Mining Area” was formulated for the building of green mines and beautiful mine areas through land reclamation and ecological restoration so as to contribute to the construction of ecological civilization and beautiful China.

PENG Suping, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of CUMT-Beijing made a report on “Status of Coal Resources Exploitation and Utilization in China and Sustainable Development Strategies”. HU Zhenqi, professor of CUMT-Beijing made a report on “Status and Prospect of Coal Mine Land Reclamation and Ecological Reconstruction in China”.
