On the afternoon of June 2nd, the university held a work promotion meeting in the Academic Lecture Hall of the Exchange Center. This is an important meeting held after the successful conclusion of the national "two sessions", accompaniedby university’s shifting to normal work.The main tasks are to unify thinking, boost confidence, coordinate prevention and control against COVID-19 with the development of the university, and accelerate the pace of building a world-class university of energy science and technology.

XuXiaomin stressed that 2020 isnot onlya key year for the university to deepen comprehensive reform, carry out a new round of discipline evaluation and accelerate the construction of “DoubleFirst-Class”, but also a yearconnectingthe completion of the “13th Five-Year” Plan and the layout of the “14th Five-Year” Plan.Xu Xiaomin put forward four requirements for the following work:First, we need to take the holistic approach to realize the coordination betweenCOVID-19prevention and control and the universitydevelopment;Second, we need to focus on themain taskand make joint efforts to promote party building work to a new level;Third, we need to increase revenue and reduce expenditure, and firmly fulfill the idea of“living a tight life”;Fourth, we need to forge ahead with determination to make new achievements of the universitycareer.

President Ge Shirong proposed three requirements on how to implement the spirit of this meeting.First, we must unify our thinking and raise our level of understanding. Second, we should base ourselves on the position and take the initiative. Third, we need to combine the specific efforts with overall work and speed up implementation.
