CUMTB Students Excel in the 13th National College Student Mathematics Competition

In recent days, the results of the 13th National College Students' Mathematics Competition and the 32nd Beijing College Students' Mathematics Competition were unveiled, with our university achieving a historic high in student performance.

In this competition, a total of 602 students from our university participated. Eventually, 237 students achieved Beijing municipal-level awards, comprising 50 first prizes, 73 second prizes, 114 third prizes, and 34 awards in the mathematics major category. Meanwhile, 204 students received national-level awards, including 29 first prizes, 65 second prizes, and 110 third prizes. The numbersof award-winning students and participants in both non-mathematics and mathematics majors have reached historic highs.

In recent years, the guidance team for college mathematics competitions has remained steadfast in its commitment to the fundamental task of cultivating character and talent. The team has fully leveraged the pivotal role of subject competitions in the holistic development process, encompassing value formation, skill enhancement, and knowledge transmission. During competition training, emphasis has been placed on incorporating elements of moral education, integrating scientific research methods with training, and fostering in students the spirit of pursuing excellence, qualities of enterprising spirit, and the resilience to face failures.The team has proactively explored competition tutoring content tailored to our school's unique characteristics. The leader of the competition has published the textbook “Guidelines for College Student Mathematical Competition Problem Solving”, guiding students to master scientific thinking methods and fostering their innovative spirit and consciousness.
