





To deepen the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, on the evening of May 5th, the 'May Flower Sea, Singing in the New Era' grand chorus competition was held at the Student Activity Center on the Shahe Campus. An Yu, Deputy Secretary of the CUMTB Party Committee, attended the event. Party secretaries and deputy secretaries in charge of student affairs from various schools, as well as officials from CUMTB Youth League Committee and Security Department joined over 300 students from different schools in witnessing the competition.
The competition invited Hai Yan, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Ethnic Minorities Vocal Music Society, along with Jiang Xiuhong, a coloratura soprano and vocal educator, and Dong Wei, a baritone singer and young conductor, to serve as judges.
The chorus competition featured performances from 10 participating schools, guiding young students to sing the melodies of the new era that express love for the party, the country, and socialism with an uplifting and youthful spirit. The competition aimed to create a harmonious and beautiful campus cultural atmosphere, showcasing the profound red cultural heritage of our university. The entire competition hall was filled with enthusiastic and energetic singing, resonating throughout the auditorium. The chorus performances from the ten participating teams were diverse, ranging from melodious and pleasant to passionate and vibrant, eliciting lively applause and cheers from the audience.
After the performances, the three judges provided feedback on the chorus performances of each school, offering insightful comments and professional advice. They highly commended the students' performances.
The School of Law and Humanities clinched the first prize in this competition, while the School of Geo-sciences and Surveying Engineering, School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, and School of Mechanical, Electrical and Information Engineering secured the second prize. The School of Management, School of Science, School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, School of Energy and Mining, School of Marxism, and School of Emergent Management and Safety Engineering received the third prize. Vice Secretary of CUMTB Party Committee, An Yu, presented the awards to the winning schools.
The torch of May Fourth awakened the nation's consciousness. In the sea of youthful vitality, the melody resounds with enthusiasm for the rejuvenation of China. In the bright sunshine of May, our faculty and students, marching to the beat of the new era, sing the Chinese Dream, express patriotic sentiments, praise the new era, and embark on a new journey.
