CUMTB Clinched the “Outstanding Award” in the 2023 “Challenge Cup” Capital University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition under the “Youth Innovation Beijing” Initiative

On May 30th, the "Challenge Cup" Capital University Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition under the “Youth Innovation Beijing” initiative, organized by Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and Beijing Student Federation, and hosted by Beijing Technology and Business University, concluded at its Liangxiang campus. In this capital-level "Challenge Cup" competition, our university secured 4 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 9 third prizes in the main competition, along with 4 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 5 third prizes in specialized categories. The university once again clinched the "Outstanding Award" in the Capital "Challenge Cup" competition.

With the theme “Shouldering Responsibilities, Contributing to Science and Innovation”, this competition comprised a main event and five specialized categories. It drew the participation of 240,000 students from 80 universities across the city, resulting in 4,430 teams advancing to the city-level competition. These numbers marked historic highs in terms of participating universities, projects, and contestants. After extensive promotion, initial screening, and recommendations from various schools, coupled with qualification reviews by the organizing committee, a total of 112 projects were approved. This attracted 695 students and 196 faculty members to participate. Following internal preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and finals, 15 outstanding projects emerged to represent the university in the main competition of the Capital 'Challenge Cup.'

With collaborative efforts from various departments, schools, and internal and external experts, all 15 projects representing our university in the main competition of the Capital “Challenge Cup” competition received awards. Six of these projects advanced to the final defense, achieving 4 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 9 third prizes. In four special categories, including “Youth Top 20” and “Youth Vibrancy in Beijing Suburbs”, our university recommended a total of 42 projects. Among them, the “Youth Top 20” Red Special Category secured 4 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 5 third prizes, while the “Youth Vibrancy in Beijing Suburbs” Rural Revitalization Special Category earned 1 second prize.
