CUMTB Students Win Second Prize in the 2023 China Robot Competition and RoboCup Robot China Open

Recently, the National Finals of the 2023 China Robot Competition and RoboCup China Open concluded at Jinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Fujian. Our university's team “Green from Fingers”, composed of students from the Electrical Engineering program in School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, won the National Second Prize in the Innovation and Creativity Competition—Artificial Intelligence and Robot Creative Design Project. Additionally, Mr. Zhao Feng, a teacher from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, received the Second Prize for Excellent Guidance Teacher in the China Robot Competition."
The China Robot Competition and RoboCup China Open, organized by the Chinese Association of Automation, is one of the most influential and technically advanced robotics competitions in China, as well as the most influential and authoritative robotics technology competition, academic conference, and science popularization event in China. It serves as a significant platform for the exchange of intelligent manufacturing technology and high-end talents in China today.
This year's competition attracted a total of 260 schools, including renowned institutions such as Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, and China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing, with a total of 1084 teams participating, and the number of registered participants exceeding 5000. School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering attached great importance to this event and established a guidance team composed of two teachers, Zhao Feng and Liu Liling. With the support of relevant departments such as Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, and General Affairs Office, and under the careful guidance of the instructors, team members began active preparations from June 2023, and then steadily carry on project planning, technical communication, and result transformation. They successfully qualified for the national finals in the August 2023 sectional competition. During the preparation for this national competition, based on the feedback and suggestions from experts and judges in the sectional competition, the instructors and team members continued to polish and refine their competition works, strengthen and improve every detail, and conduct repeated testing and drills. Eventually, they achieved excellent results in the national finals.
