Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the list of winners for China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2023) Finals (formerly known as the China International “Internet+” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition). Our university won a total of three national bronze medals, including two in the Higher Education Main Track and one in the Industry Topic Track.
This year's competition attracted a total of 4.21 million projects and 17.09 million participants from 5,296 universities in 151 countries and regions worldwide, reflecting the event's goal of being “more Chinese, more international, more educational, more comprehensive, more innovative, and more collaborative”. Our university attached great importance to the organization of the event. Since the preparation work began in March last year, under the unified leadership of the university's Party Committee and administration, departments such as the Youth League Committee, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Institute of Science and Technology Research, National University Science Park, and Finance Office have worked closely together. All schools and departments jointly exerted efforts, leveraging competitions such as the “Challenge Cup” and “Beijing College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition” to thoroughly explore projects and actively mobilize faculty and students to participate.
Our university had a total of 290 projects registered for the competition, doubling both the number of registered projects and participants compared to previous years, which demonstrates the continuous enhancement of the university's innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere and the increasing enthusiasm among faculty and students to participate. To ensure the smooth progress of the competition, the university established a competition organizing committee, conducted internal selection competitions, organized several training camps, and invited experts to provide multiple rounds of one-on-one coaching and polishing for key projects, continuously improving the quality of participating projects and the presentation skills of the teams. In the Beijing regional semifinals, 4 projects won first prize, 16 projects won second prize, and 23 projects won third prize. Among them, 3 projects advanced to the national finals and won national bronze medals.
