On April 21, 2024, the 8^th China Postgraduate Public Administration Case Competition concluded at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Huairou District, Beijing. The School of Law and Humanities at China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing stood out among more than 2,597 teams from over 260 institutions nationwide, making it into the top 20% and winning the "National Excellence Award".

Among them, the "Never Lying Flat Coal Team" successfully advanced to the top 32 nationwide, entered the finals, and ultimately won the “National First Prize” and the “Best Case Award”. Associate Professor Xu Wenwen and Professor Tan Shuang were recognized as “Best Advisors”. Our university received the “Outstanding Organization Award”, setting a new record for the university’s best performance in such major national competitions. This achievement represents the latest result of our Public Administration discipline's commitment to “integrating into the mainstream while maintaining distinctive features”.

Since the launch of the 8th China Postgraduate Public Administration Case Competition, our university has placed great importance on this event. Through a comprehensive incubation process of “full mobilization, careful selection, and focused training”, the university ultimately selected 11 teams to participate. The “Never Lying Flat Coal Team”, guided by Xu Wenwen and Tan Shuang, successfully entered the finals after multiple rounds of evaluations. During the finals, Professor Liu Jincheng, Dean of School of Law and Humanities, Professor Tan Shuang, Vice Dean, and the entire staff of the MPA Center were fully involved in organizing and guiding the competition.

The outstanding achievements in this competition fully demonstrate the significant progress the university has made in building its faculty team and improving the quality of postgraduate education. It also reaffirms the substantial enhancement of the influence of our Public Administration discipline. China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing will continue to lead students in focusing on real-world issues in China, exploring Chinese solutions, and persistently promoting the high-quality development of the Public Administration discipline!
