CUMTB International Students Invited to the China-ASEAN “ZhiXing Guizhou” Silk Road Youth Exchange Program

The China-ASEAN "ZhiXing Guizhou" Silk Road Youth Exchange Program is hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education and organized by the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week Committee. From July 4thto 11th, four outstanding international students from our university were invited to participate in the exchange program in Bijie City, Guizhou Province.
Over the course of 8 days, they explored traditional culture in western Guizhou, visited scenic ancient towns in misty rain, enjoyed the beautiful mountains and rivers of Guizhou, experienced ethnic customs, appreciated ink wash painting, participated in traditional sports, studied new business disciplines related to the Silk Road, engaged in DIY batik and paper-cutting art, and exchanged ideas on innovation and entrepreneurship with young people from China and abroad.
At the concluding summary meeting of the event, Haohan, a 2020 master's student from School of Management, spoke on behalf of all international students. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the "ZhiXing Guizhou" Silk Road Youth Exchange Program, highlighting the enriching cultural experience it provided. Haohan expressed his hope to participate in similar activities in the future. He thanked Guizhou Institute of Engineering Science for their meticulous organization and referenced a letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping to international students at Peking University, encouraging them to explore different parts of China to gain a deeper understanding of the country. Haohan viewed the "ZhiXing Guizhou" program as a significant step in fulfilling President Xi's vision, fostering greater understanding and appreciation of China through diverse cultural activities, thereby strengthening friendly relations between countries.
The other international students NJ from our university also exchange their opinions. NJ shared that the program allowed them to explore various cultures embedded in China's long history and appreciate the artistic treasures bestowed by nature. They participated in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, local ethnic sports, and admired the humanistic arts recognized as China's intangible cultural heritage, calling it an unforgettable experience. Elena mentioned learning a lot about Chinese culture and local traditions during the program. She expressed her fondness for Guizhou's charming scenery and the warm hospitality of the local people. Elena not only savored various local cuisines but also immersed herself in Chinese traditional culture and made new friends. Huanglong highlighted the valuable learning from the innovation and entrepreneurship course exchange during the program. From innovative culture to contemporary paths in innovation and entrepreneurship, he acknowledged China's remarkable achievements in development, providing him with numerous insights for future studies.
