From June 25 to July 2, the online defense for the joint master degree program in Advanced Mineral Resource Development (AMRD) involving Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria, Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany, and CUMTB was held. Professors Nikolaus August Sifferlinger from Montanuniversität Leoben and professor Carsten Drebenstedt from Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, along with staff from relevant departments of our university and the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, attended the defense.

The program is our university's first fully English-taught master's program. Students participating in the program undergo one semester of coursework at cooperating institutions in Austria and Germany, followed by completing their master's thesis and defense at our university. Upon successfully passing the defense, they will be awarded a joint master's degree from all three universities. This year, 12 Chinese students successfully passed the project's defense and oral examinations.

The Joint Master Program in AMRD is highly significant for international exchange and cooperation among the three institutions. Through high-level student exchanges, the universities can further promote expert collaboration on key research projects, contributing substantially to comprehensive international cooperation across multiple fields.
