On December 27, the 2024 University Presidents Forum hosted by People's Daily Online was held at the New Media Building of People's Daily in Beijing, with the theme of "Promoting the Integrated Development of Education, Science, and Technology, and Accelerating the Construction of an Education Powerhouse." Liu Bo, the president of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), attended the forum.

A news article titled "Zhangcun: Riding the Waves in the Sea of Coal for Fifteen Years," written by Zhang Mingyuan, a Ph.D. candidate in mechanics from the School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), 2022, was selected as an outstanding campus news work in the written category by People's Daily Online in 2024. Nationwide, a total of 16 written works from higher education institutions were selected.
