Recently, the China Coal Society released the "Decision of the China Coal Society on Commending the Recipients of the 2024 Coal Youth Science and Technology Award" and presented certificates to the awardees at the Academic Annual Meeting of the China Coal Society 2024. Three teachers from our university, Professor Zhang Zhijun from the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Associate Professor Yang Jianjian from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Associate Professor Tu Kun from the National Engineering Research Center for Coal Mine Water Hazard Control, were honored with the Coal Youth Science and Technology Award 2024.

The Coal Youth Science and Technology Award was established by the China Coal Society in 1990 and registered with the approval of the National Office for Science and Technology Awards. It aims to incentivize outstanding young individuals who have made significant contributions to advancements in coal science and technology, promote academic innovation, and better leverage the exemplary role of young key scientific researchers in the industry and discipline in tackling technological challenges. This year, a total of 65 individuals nationwide were awarded the Coal Youth Science and Technology Award 2024.
