Recently, Stanford University in the United States released the seventh edition of the World's Top 2% Scientists 2023, which is divided into the "career-long impact" list, focusing on the impact throughout an entire academic career to date, and the "single-year impact" list, highlighting academic achievements in the current year. Twenty scholars from our university have been included in the "career-long impact" list of the World's Top 2% Scientists, and 41 scholars have made it to the "single-year impact" list of the World's Top 2% Scientists.

It is reported that the list of the World's Top 2% Scientists 2023 is a project outcome of the collaboration between Elsevier and Professor John P. A. Ioannidis's team at Stanford University, published on Mendeley Data, a website under Elsevier. The list is based on a systematic analysis of citation data from the Scopus database, using six key indicators including total citations, Hirsch H-index, Schreiber Hm-index adjusted for co-authors, single author publications, citations of articles where the scholar is the sole, first, or last author, and citations of articles where the scholar is the sole or first author. Covering 22 fields and 174 subfields, the list provides a metric for evaluating scientists' long-term research performance, offering a more objective and authentic reflection of their influence.
