From April 17thto 19th, the finals of the Second National College Student Career Planning Contest, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Hunan Province, were held in Changsha, Hunan. Our university won the honorary title of the national "Excellent Organization Award" for the first time, becoming one of the three award-winning universities in Beijing (out of a total of 10 ministry-affiliated universities nationwide that received awards). One student qualified for the national finals for the first time, and our university achieved outstanding results, including 5 gold awards, 9 silver awards, 14 bronze awards, and 9 outstanding instructor awards in the Beijing regional contest. Our university ranked sixth among Beijing universities in terms of the number of gold awards and fourth in terms of the total number of gold, silver, and bronze awards (28 awards in total), marking a new breakthrough for our university in this contest.
The university attaches great importance to preparations for the contest. Since launching the intramural selection process in October 2024, we have attracted enthusiastic responses and registrations from more than 7,400 students through multifaceted promotions. We selected and recommended 28 contestants to participate in the Beijing regional contest. Before the regional contest, we provided extensive coaching, including sharing sessions by first-edition gold award winners, "one-on-one" mock presentations, and full-time guidance from instructors. Additionally, invited by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, our university was the only ministry-affiliated university to present on our contest experiences, with the theme of "Improving 'Three Dimensions' and Empowering High-Quality and Adequate Employment for College Students through Contest Leadership." During this period, the university actively coordinated various resources, and each college took the initiative to integrate contest activities at both the university and college levels with career guidance, life planning, campus recruitment, and job shadowing events, continuously expanding the contest's influence and comprehensively enhancing its educational effectiveness.
In recent years, the university has thoroughly implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council regarding the employment and entrepreneurship of college graduates. We have taken multiple measures to enhance the level of career planning education and employment guidance for students. Moving forward, our university will seize the opportunity presented by organizing the National College Student Career Planning Contest, leveraging the contest's demonstrative role and educational value. With the goal of establishing a high-quality employment service system, we will stimulate students' awareness of career planning, guide them to form correct views on employment, career selection, and personal growth, and facilitate the high-quality and adequate employment of students at our university.
