President Liu Bo Meets with Vice President Nasriddinov Zamoniddin of Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgy Institute

Recently, President Liu Bo met with visiting Vice President Nasriddinov Zamoniddin of Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgy Institute and his delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for inter-university cooperation, promoting collaboration in education and technology, as well as faculty and student exchanges.

Liu Bo extended a warm welcome to Vice President Nasriddinov Zamoniddin and briefly introduced the university's development history, distinctive features, talent cultivation, and international cooperation. He emphasized that both institutions share a solid foundation for collaboration, particularly in mining, safety, and environmental protection. Guided by the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Tajikistan, and leveraging the newly approved Sino-Tajik intergovernmental joint R&D project, he proposed to advance practical cooperation for more achievements in education and technology.

Nasriddinov Zamoniddin conveyed greetings from the President of Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgy Institute and spoke highly of the accomplishments of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in education and scientific research. Noting their shared focus on mining disciplines, he expressed the institute's commitment to international exchanges and hoped to establish long-term collaboration, particularly in green, low-carbon, safe, and intelligent mineral resource development, joint laboratory construction, and student co-cultivation to facilitate higher education resource sharing between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by scholars from Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgy Institute specializing in mineral processing, metallurgy, environment, and chemical engineering, along with key officials from its international cooperation department. Representatives from CUMTB's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, young faculty members, and Tajikistani students currently studying at the university also participated.

Following the meeting, Nasriddinov Zamoniddin and his delegation visited undergraduate teaching and research laboratories at the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, the National Key Laboratory of Fine Coal Exploration and Intelligent Development and engaged in academic exchanges with the school.

Tajikistan Mining and Metallurgy Institute, located in Buston—an industrial hub of Tajikistan—is a renowned Central Asian polytechnic university and a key institution for cultivating high-quality professionals in mining, metallurgy, and petroleum industries.
