CUMTB Team Wins Gold Award in Qualifying Round of Green Industry Track at BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2025

On September 20, the results of the BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2025 were officially announced. Following rigorous evaluation and preliminary defense sessions, a team from the University’s School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering won the Gold Award in the Qualifying Round of the Green Industry Track for its project titled “Multi-Dimensional Precise Regulation and Enhanced Separation Technology for Strategic Metal Sulfide Ores.”

The BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2025 is an international event held under the framework of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution. The Contest is hosted by the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other relevant organizations. Themed “Unleashing the Potential of BRICS Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization,” the event was held from May to September 2025 in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, and Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. The Contest is organized into five tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Green Industry, Low-Altitude Economy, Energy Electronics Industry, and Industrial Design. It invites industrial innovation projects from enterprises, research institutions, and universities across BRICS and “BRICS Plus” countries. The Green Industry Track is organized by the China Association of Circular Economy and focuses on areas such as energy conservation, carbon reduction, and resource recycling. The final round confers Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Outstanding Project Awards.

This achievement marks a new milestone for the University in the field of industrial innovation and international competitions, demonstrating the strong capability of its faculty and students in integrating interdisciplinary research with engineering practice.
