On the morning of Jan.10, the 2013 National Science and Technology Award Conference was held by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. China leaders Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli attended the conference and presented awards to the representatives of prize-winners. Li Keqiang delivered a speech at the conference on behalf of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council.

　　As one of the representatives, Professor Yang Renshu from CUMTB attended the conference and was cordially received by Xi Jinping and other leaders. Professor Yang’s project earned the 2nd-class National Science and Technology Progress Award; Professor Long Zhifei, from the School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, won the 2nd-class National Natural Science Award.
