On the afternoon of October 24, Prof. Józef Dubinski, Chairman of World Mining Association and President of Poland Central Mining Institute visited the university. Jiang Yaodong, Vice President of CUMTB met with Prof. Dubinski and introduced the laboratory construction, subject features of the university, its important position in China’s higher education system and mining industry, as well as the special roles played by universities with industrial characteristics in China’s economy development. Prof. Dubinski introduced the current focus on energy exploitation in Poland, and hoped that this visit could promote substantive cooperation between the two universities in areas of common interests. Both sides agreed that the scientific research cooperation in mining could boost the “green mining”, which is sustainable and causes less pollution.
