On January 29th, the Ministry of Education held the first press conference of 2013 in Beijing. China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center released the results of the third-round discipline ranking assessment in 2012.

　　A number of disciplines jointly supported by the two campuses of China University of Mining and Technology joined the assessment, including 12 first-level doctoral disciplines, 1 second-level doctoral discipline and 4 first-level master disciplines. The result of assessment is that 4 first-level doctoral disciplines rank top 5 in China, among which the two disciplines of Mineral Engineering and Safety Science and Engineering rank first, tying for the 11th place among universities of the whole nation. Discipline of Surveying and Mapping Technology ranks 3rd, while discipline of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering ranks 4th.
