On the afternoon of December 31, CUMTB 2019 Annual Meeting on Scientific Research Work was held in the conference room of No. 3 Office Building. Vice President Wang Jiachen attended the meeting and made a speech. Deans and related staff members from schools,state key laboratories and National Engineering Research Center attended the meeting.

Wang Jiachen pointed out thatCUMTBis entering a period of speeding up development. It is necessary to stand high and have a long-term vision, vigorously develop interdisciplinary and inter-school cooperation modes, and actively expand scientific research cooperation channels, so as to obtain new scientific research growth points.

In 2019, the university’s research funding reached a record high, an increase of nearly 25% over 2018, of which horizontal funding increased by nearly 60%. The total amount of funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is 2.1 times that of 2018, which is a record high, among which one Major Projectof the NSFC and three Key Projectsareapproved, and the Major Projectof the NSFCisawarded toCUMTBfor the first time. The total amount of funding for social science projects is twice that of 2018, which is also a record high. Among them, Model College of Marxism and Excellent Teaching and Research Team Construction Projectisapproved by the Ministry of Education, and one key projectof Beijing Social Science Fundisapproved, breaking“zero”for such projects. As the first completion member,CUMTBwon one Gold Medal of Chinese Patent, one second prize of National Technological Invention Award,andone second prize of National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress.
