On the morning of August 24th, Professor Ian Young, Director of the Australia Education Management Group (AEMG), along with its Vice President Stephen Connelly, Assistant Vice President and Minister of Global Affairs and Partnerships Duan Yucai, Deputy Director of the Northern Region of the Global Department Zhou Qiaoxin, and Project Division Director Chi Kuan visited our university. Vice President Cui Ximin met with the delegation, and officials from the Graduate School as well as International Cooperation and Exchange Office participated in the discussions.

During the meeting, Vice President Cui Ximin warmly welcomed the delegation and gave a brief overview of our university's history, academic specialties, and ongoing international cooperation efforts. He expressed the hope that the AEMG would actively play a bridging role, facilitating academic exchange and research collaboration between our university and Australian institutions. The goal is to enhance talent development, faculty capacity, and research capabilities, aligning with the high-quality development needs of the industry and national strategic requirements.

Stephen Connelly presented the accomplishments of the AEMG in advancing collaboration and exchanges between Chinese and Australian universities. He emphasized the resources available at the group's existing Australian mining-related institutions. Additionally, he proposed a suggested model to foster cooperation and exchange between our university and relevant institutions, with the aim of laying a solid foundation for substantial collaboration in the future through this visit.

The atmosphere during the discussion was warm and harmonious, with the conversation being rich and in-depth. Both parties reached a consensus on their cooperation intentions. Following the meeting, members of the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safe Mining at our university.
