CUMTB “Intelligent Coal Mining” Outreach Event Named Among Top Activities for National Science Popularization Day 2023

Recently, China Association for Science and Technology announced the assessment results of the 2023 National Science Popularization Day activities. Through comprehensive evaluation, a total of 1749 activities were rated as excellent activities for the event. Our university's "Intelligent Coal Mining" science popularization activity was successfully included in the list of excellent activities.

The "Intelligent Coal Mining" exhibition, as the only science popularization activity in the coal mining field, was selected as the main event of the 2023 National Science Popularization Day jointly hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and 20 national ministries. During the exhibition, it attracted over 20,000 visitors, with more than 3,000 people engaging in immersive experiences. Over 10,000 people received scientific explanations. The exhibition received attention and coverage from media outlets such as the China Central Television, People's Daily, and Science and Technology Daily. This exhibition received support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China's special project (Science Communication category) titled "Popularization Science Activities for Intelligent and Safe Coal Resource Mining (42042043)". Among the participants were Associate Professor Zhang Cun, doctoral student Chen Yanhong, and undergraduate students Qin Chenyang, Ma Jiaqin, Jia Ceyuan, and Wang Zichen from CUMTB.
