On June 16, the inaugural China-Europe Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition was held in Lujiazui, Shanghai. School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from CUMTB attended the opening ceremony. Professor Ye Tao from this school received the bronze plaque and certificate for Strategic Partner of the inaugural China-Europe Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition from the organizing committee. Additionally, as a member of the professional committee, Ye Tao was awarded an Expert Committee appointment certificate by Zhang Xinsheng, Chair of the Executive Board of UNESCO, former Vice Minister of Education, and Special Researcher of the Counselor's Office of the State Council.

The competition was organized by the Shanghai Overseas Cultural Exchange Center and co-hosted by the Global Innovation Network Project Intelligent Industry Promotion Center of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Alibaba (China) Software Co., Ltd., Alibaba Public Welfare "Orange Dot Students" program, and the Lujiazui Road Chamber of Commerce. Over 300 leaders, faculty, and students from universities in China and Europe attended the opening ceremony.

The China-Europe Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition focused on the innovative applications of artificial intelligence in various fields of economic and social development in China and Europe. Aiming to drive development through technology and link industries for the future, the competition promoted international academic exchange, cutting-edge talent cultivation, technological development, and cross-disciplinary application and integration in the AI field. It sought to create a China-Europe AI talent exchange platform and an industrial economic ecosystem centered on serving the real economy, thus injecting new momentum into China-Europe collaboration and industrial economic development.

Participating in the China-Europe Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition represents a concrete measure by our university to thoroughly implement the spirit of documents such as the "State Council Notice on the Issuance of the New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan" and the "AI Innovation Action Plan for Colleges and Universities". It is also an important step for our university to actively integrate into the international artificial intelligence arena.
