Recently, with the joint leadership and support from multiple departments including the Academic Affairs Office, School of Science, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, a team of seven teachers from the Department of Physics and Experimental Teaching Center at our School of Science, namely Li Hongtao, Huang Huajun, Zhao Liang, Zhao Shihua, Jiang Xiaodan, Lv Kun, and Feng Feng, overcame challenges posed by the pandemic and led our students to achieve four first prizes and one excellent prize in the China Undergraduate Physics Experiment Competition (CUPEC).
In this competition, nearly 500 universities participated with around 1600 teams. Our university's five participating teams navigated through challenges and emerged outstanding among many competitors, achieving the highest rate of first prizes in our university's history at the national level. This accomplishment, with the highest number of first prizes tied nationally, fully showcases the innovative abilities of our faculty and students, as well as the effective outcomes of our undergraduate practical teaching in recent years.
Currently, the Department of Physics and the Experimental Teaching Center together have 16 teachers, with over ten of them actively participating in various physics competition coaching teams. This has formed a large coaching team specializing in innovative and practical competitions, dedicated to building a platform for student innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic competitions at our university.
