Academician Wu Qiang Elected into International Eurasian Academy of Sciences

Recently, following the election and recommendation by the Academician Conference of the China Science Center of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS) and the review by the Presidium of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, the China Science Center of the IEAS officially announced on its website that professor Wu Qiang at China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing, the director of the National Coal Mine Water Hazard Prevention Engineering Technology Research Center, and an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, has been elected as an academician of the IEAS.
On November 14, 2020, the 23rdAcademician Conference of the China Science Center of the IEAS was held in Beijing, where 50 Chinese scholars were nominated as official candidates for academicians of the IEAS. By the end of May 2021, these nominations were officially approved, marking a new high in the number of Chinese scientists elected.
The IEAS was founded in 1994 and is composed of renowned scientists, technical experts, and cultural figures from around the world. Currently, it has over 600 academicians, corresponding academicians, and honorary members from 46 countries. The headquarters of the IEAS is located in Moscow, with regional centers established in Europe (France), Eurasia (Russia), and the Asia-Pacific region (China), and national science centers in 15 countries. The China Science Center of the IEAS was established in 1996, applied by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and approved by the State Scientific and Technological Commission of The People's Republic of China. To date, more than 200 Chinese scientists have been elected as academicians of the IEAS.
