Academician He Manchao Elected into the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia

On the afternoon of June 3, the certificate awarding ceremony for newly elected academicians of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia was held in Moscow. Mr. Jiang Zhongliang, Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Russia, participated in the ceremony online.
The ceremony was hosted by Academician Yuriy Malyshev, President of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia. During the event, certificates and badges were awarded to Professor He Manchao, Director of the State Key Laboratory for GeoMechanics and Deep Underground Engineering at China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing; Professor Qiao Jianyong, President of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; and Professor Batugin Andrian of the National University of Science and Technology MISiS. Each of the newly elected academicians delivered acceptance speeches. Mr. Jiang Zhongliang also addressed the ceremony.
The election of these three Chinese and Russian scientists as academicians of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia is expected to further promote innovative cooperation between China and Russia in the field of international mining science and technology, yielding more fruitful results in international collaboration within the mining sector.
The Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia was registered as a cross-regional public organization on October 28, 1993, by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. It is recognized by the United Nations Department of Public Information as a non-governmental organization. The academy holds special consultative status within the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), which is an important recognition of its international standing. The academy brings together top researchers and experts in the fields of mining, geology, petroleum, natural gas industry, and the development of mineral and non-metallic reserves. Its primary objectives include accelerating technological innovation and technical development in the field of mineral resources; promoting progress in mining construction; advancing mining science and technology; and enhancing production efficiency.
