On May 20, the closing ceremony of the 11th"Challenge Cup" Capital College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition (abbreviated as Capital "Challenge Cup"), themed "Youth to the Party, Science and Technology for the Nation", was successfully held at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. Leaders from Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and Haidian District Party Committee attended the event, so did representatives from our university's Youth League Committee and participating students.
Out of the 15 works our university submitted for the main event of the Capital "Challenge Cup", 14 won awards, among which seven advanced to the final round for the special prize defense, ultimately achieving 2 special prizes, 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 7 third prizes. Our university secured three spots for the national competition, ranked among the top ten in Beijing in total team points, and for the first time, won the "Victory Cup" in the Capital "Challenge Cup" competition, along with the "Outstanding Organization Award."
In the three special competitions, "Red Practice," "Tech Winter Olympics", and "Revealing the List and Taking Command", our university recommended a total of 49 outstanding works, all of which won awards. This included 1 special prize in the "Revealing the List and Taking Command" special competition, 2 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 36 third prizes in the "Red Practice" special competition, and 2 third prizes in the "Tech Winter Olympics" special competition.
This year marks several firsts for our university: for the first time winning a special prize in the Capital "Challenge Cup", for the first time advancing to the national competition, and for the first time winning the "Victory Cup". We achieved breakthroughs in several areas, including the number of entries in the special prize defense, the levels of awards won, the award-winning rate, the number of spots in the national competition, and the total team points, all of which set new records for our university's participation in the Capital "Challenge Cup".
