On December 29, 2020, Beijing Municipal Association for Education and Management of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Students held its annual conference at Renmin University of China. Wang Zhiwei, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office of Ministry of Education, and Du Peng, Vice President of Renmin University of China and Chairman of Beijing Municipal Association for Education and Management of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Students, along with Pan Fangfang, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, attended the meeting. Representatives from various Beijing universities participated in the meeting online. Our university was honored with the Excellent Organization Award for Activities Involving Students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese in Beijing Universities in this meeting.

In 2019, our university obtained approval to enroll undergraduate students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and the student recruitment was initiated in 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Academic Affairs Office, the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs, and relevant departments of our university worked actively to review application materials and conduct interviews for students from these regions. As a result, we admitted four students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Since the start of their studies, the Students Affairs Office has diligently addressed the health insurance needs of these students, while the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs collaborated with relevant departments to organize activities such as the "First Class for New Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and Overseas Chinese" in Beijing in 2020. Additionally, our university's students from these regions participated in the Ministry of Education's themed essay competition, "Youthful Ambition, Beauty of the Times", aimed at enhancing their understanding of national conditions.
