President Liu Bo meets with Professor Hai-Sui Yu, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds

On the morning of March 14, President Liu Bo met with Professor Hai-Sui Yu, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, in Office Building No. 1.

Liu Bo warmly welcomed Professor Hai-Sui Yu’s visit, noting that the two universities signed a cooperation agreement for the Master’s 1+1+1 program in 2018. The implementation of this program has provided a high-level exchange platform for students and has played a positive role in promoting talent cultivation and discipline development between the two universities, along with frequent faculty exchanges. He expressed hopes for further broadening and deepening cooperation, allowing joint talent cultivation to drive academic and research exchanges.

Hai-Sui Yu thanked the university for its warm reception and briefly introduced recent developments at the University of Leeds. He pointed out that the established Master’s 1+1+1 program is open to all majors at our university, and admitted students can enjoy a certain proportion of scholarships. He hopes that both sides will continue to strengthen communication and collaboration to contribute to education and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The University of Leeds, founded in 1904, is a public comprehensive research university located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world, recognized as a "red brick" university in the UK, and is a member of the Russell Group. In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, it is ranked 82ndin the world.

Representatives from Lixing Academy, International Cooperation & Exchange Office, and School of Mechanics & Civil Engineering attended the meeting.
