
On the afternoon of October 21, Vice Chancellor Iain Watt of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) visited our university along with Jenny Wang, Executive Director of AEMG Education Group, Stephen Connelly, Vice President (Business Development and Partnerships), Duan Yucai, Assistant President, and Chi Kuan, Business Manager of the Global Affairs and Partnerships Department. President Liu Bo met with the delegation, accompanied by heads from the School of Emergency Management and Safety Engineering, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, and the International Office.
Liu Bo first extended a warm welcome to Vice Chancellor Iain Watt and the representatives from AEMG Education Group. He mentioned that Vice Chancellor Iain Watt is an old friend of our university, having visited twice before and made positive contributions to the exchange and cooperation between the two universities during his tenure as Vice Chancellor of the University of Western Australia. This visit as Vice Chancellor of University of Technology Sydney will open a new chapter in the joint establishment of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects between the two universities. Liu Bo also expressed sincere gratitude to AEMG Education Group for facilitating exchanges between our university and Australian universities over the years and for providing the "Research Methodology" course to our graduate students through the AIFE Course Center. He hopes that the group will continue to serve as a bridge and strengthen and deepen the international cooperation between our university and University of Technology Sydney in talent cultivation, scientific research, and other fields.
Vice Chancellor Iain Watt stated that University of Technology Sydney has the top-ranked artificial intelligence institute in Australia, and our university has strong capabilities in related fields such as intelligent mining. The two universities have a solid foundation for jointly establishing Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. He hopes that our university will send a delegation to visit University of Technology Sydney soon to initiate project co-construction after a site visit.
Director Jenny Wang said that AEMG Education Group has been deeply involved in international education exchange and cooperation for many years and has developed into an international education institution with multiple business brands including AEMG College, AIFE Course Center, Traditional Chinese Medicine Development and Chinese Culture Center, and Digital Cloud Campus. The group will increase its efforts to further promote in-depth cooperation between our university and well-known foreign universities.
After the meeting, Vice Chancellor Iain Watt gave a presentation to the faculty and students in Classroom 314 of the teaching building, introducing University of Technology Sydney. Experts including Andrew Roberts, Vice President of AEMG Education Group, answered questions for some graduate students participating in the AIFE courses in Classroom 213 of the teaching building.
