


On the afternoon of April 11th, Professor Datuk Seri Noor Azuan Bin Abu Osman, the Vice-Chancellor ofUniversiti Malaya in Malaysia, along with his Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ramesh Singh Kuldip Singh, Dr. Rong Liu, the Senior Director of the Global Education Center, and Ms. Qizhi Dai, the Head of the Foundation Studies Center, visited our university. President Liu Bo received the delegation in Building No. 1 and signed an Inter-University Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of the university.
President Liu Bo first extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. After briefly introducing the university's history, academic features, and scientific research achievements, he expressed that Universiti Malaya, as a top university in Malaysia, enjoys a high reputation in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, as well as Engineering. As a research-oriented university, our university has made significant contributions to talent training, scientific and technological research, and social services for the coal-based national energy industry since its establishment. We possess a solid research foundation and scientific research strength in the field of engineering and technology. He hoped that through this signing of MOU, the two universities could further cooperate in talent cultivation, faculty development, and scientific research.
Vice-Chancellor Noor Azuan Osman expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He mentioned that he had previously served as the Vice-Chancellor of Malaysia National University of Energy and fully understood the importance of the energy industry. He highly appreciated the remarkable achievements made by our university in scientific research. As a research-oriented university, Universiti Malaya also hopes to deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in all aspects, including teacher-student exchanges and scientific research cooperation.
Universiti Malaya, a public research university, is the largest and oldest institution of higher learning in Malaysia. It is also a member of the Association of Asian Universities, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, and the "21st-Century Maritime Silk Road" University League. In the 2024 QS World University Rankings, Universiti Malaya ranked 65th, and in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, it rose to 60th.
