Recently, the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education announced the results of 2024 Theme Case Solicitation and Approval. The project titledEcological Restoration and Social Reclamation: A Case Study on Innovative Public Governance Practices in the Green Transformation of the Energy Industry, authored by Professor Xu Wenwen and Professor Tan Shuang from School of Humanities and Law, has successfully been selected under the "Green Development" theme, marking a zero breakthrough for our university in securing theme case project approvals.

Professor Xu Wenwen and Professor Tan Shuang's project is closely aligned with the "Green Development" theme, adopting a public governance perspective and focusing on the green transformation of the energy industry, particularly innovative practices in ecological restoration and social reclamation within the sector. The specific research objects include three notable green transformation cases in China's energy industry: the green port construction experience of Huanghua Port, a coal export port; the successful transformation of the Tongluoshan Mining Area in Chongqing into a mine park; and the governance effectiveness reconstruction of the Datai Coal Mine in western Beijing after its closure. These cases showcase effective solutions for ecological restoration and social regeneration in green transformation from diverse perspectives such as collaborative governance, technology empowerment, policy innovation, and governance model changes. The project aims to summarize local innovative pathways for ecological restoration and social reclamation in China's energy industry, providing useful insights for promoting green transformation within the sector and contributing Chinese wisdom to the global green development cause.

Case teaching is a crucial means of enhancing practical ability training for professional degree graduate students, driving the reform of training models, and facilitating the organic integration of teaching and practice. Our university will seize this project approval as an opportunity to encourage supervisor teams to actively participate in various industry-education integration innovation projects, continuously advance the construction of professional degree case databases, strengthen the cultivation, promotion, and application of excellent case resources, and boost the high-quality development of graduate education at our university.
