CUMTB Holds 2025 "Revitalizing Intangible Cultural Heritage, Sustaining Spring Vibrancy" Community Carnival Event

To enhance the construction and management of student clubs, guide the healthy development of student clubs, serve the comprehensive growth of students in moral, intellectual, physical,aesthetic, and labor aspects, and enrich the cultural connotation of the one-stop community, China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing held the "Revitalizing Intangible Cultural Heritage, Sustaining Spring Vibrancy" Community Carnival Event on the South Plaza of its Shahe Campus in the morning of March 29th. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, An Yu, attended the event. Representatives from the Organization Department of the Party Committee, the University Youth League Committee, the Party and Government Office, the Security Office, as well as responsible persons from the Youth League Committees of various schools and the Youth Work Committees of various schools, and over 1,000 teachers and students participated.

The opening ceremony commenced with the solemn national anthem. The host announced the opening of the event, and Chen Xu, President of the Community Service Center, introduced the game rules for the carnival.

After the opening ceremony, the event featured a rich variety of cultural performances, including 27 wonderful shows such as ethnic minority dances, martial arts, tai chi, calligraphy, and singing, showcasing the charm of multiculturalism and winning rounds of applause and cheers from the teachers and students present. Meanwhile, 50 clubs from various categories, including ideology and politics, volunteer service and public welfare, academic science and technology, culture and sports, conducted a display of their styles and features. Fun interactive games such as "Pictionary (English Version)" by the English Association, "Rolling Tangyuan" by the Yuanqi Alumni Society, "Fun Quiz on Party History" by the Marxist Youth Reading Club, "Emotional Face Matching" by the Psychology Club, and "I Am the Judge" by the Legal Service Center attracted the active participation of numerous students.

This event fully integrated intangible cultural heritage elements and presented intangible cultural heritage content to students in the form of clue cards. At the same time, the university invited Mr. Yang Hongshun, a representative inheritor of Tianjin Baodi paper-cutting, to demonstrate traditional handicraft techniques, attracting numerous students to stop by, observe, and learn, greatly stimulating their initiative to protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage. In addition, the event also invited participating universities such as China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China Women's University, University for Peace, as well as some universities from the Shahe University Alliance, creating a lively atmosphere on-site and further promoting the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage.
