Recently, the 16th Beijing University Student Chemistry Experiment Competition, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and organized by Beijing University of Chemical Technology, concluded at the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, where the competition results were announced. A total of 15 undergraduate students from the University participated in the competition. After intense rounds of preliminary and final contests, 12 students stood out and achieved outstanding results, winning three first prizes and nine second prizes. The first prizes were awarded to Li Keyu, Zhang Mingyang, and Wang Haoyu, while the second prizes were awarded to Li Weiyu, Xu Yihan, Yang Tao, Zeng Zhihao, Wu Jiaqi, Zhou Yijun, Gu Siyuan, Zhao Wanru, and Lu Haobo.

The Beijing University Student Chemistry Experiment Competition is the only provincial-level disciplinary competition in the field of chemistry in Beijing. It aims to promote reform in chemistry laboratory teaching in universities in the capital region, improve the quality of chemistry laboratory education, encourage students’ engagement in scientific and technological activities, and enhance communication and sharing of innovative experimental projects among universities. This year’s competition attracted around 420 participants from 30 universities in Beijing.

With strong support from the Office of Academic Affairs and the School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Yuan Ning, Yang Qiaowen, and Bai Yanping served as the chief coaches for the University’s team. The coaching group carefully selected participants based on their performance in foundational chemistry courses and organized systematic training in preparation for the competition. The training was conducted under the guidance of Yuan Ning, Yang Qiaowen, Bai Yanping, Wang Caihong, and Song Yifan, which laid a solid foundation for the competition's success and outstanding results. By organizing students to participate in the Beijing Univerisity Student Chemistry Experiment Competition, the University has effectively enhanced students’ practical abilities and innovative capacity, while also further promoting the development of its chemistry and chemical engineering disciplines.
